Community Golf Coaches Course Level 1 - Lynwood Country Club

Twelve people attended and enjoyed the golf specific section of the Community Golf Coaches Course Level 1 at Lynwood Country Club located at Pitt Town on Sydneys North West outskirts on Saturday June 19th.

On the day participants attended a number of theoretical and practical sessions, which will give them the knowledge and skills to introduce basic techniques and game play concepts to beginner golfers.

  • Long game fundamentals
  • Short game fundamentals

The Community Golf Coaches Level 1 Course is part of the Australian Sports Commissions National Coaching Accreditation Scheme. It is coordinated nationally by Golf Australia and delivered by the state golfing bodies.

The aim of the course is increase the number of volunteer coaches. The role of the Community Golf Coach is ultimately to provide an enjoyable learning experience which will lead golfers of all ages to becoming regular golfers.

The target group includes school teachers, club and district Junior Promotion Officers, club personnel and volunters, late secondary and tertiary students. Participants must be at least 16 years of age.

In order to expand the network of Community Golf Coaches in regional and remote regions of New South Wales, JNJG will match any contribution that District Golf Associations make to substantially reduce the cost of the course to participants.
