The state junior medals has a new home for 2010 with Bankstown GC hosting the event this year, on Tuesday April 6, 2010.
The afternoon rain held off just long enough for the field to finish under grey but clear skies. The highlight of the afternoon was an outstanding 6 under par 65 from Roland Krelle of the Nowra GC. Other winners in the afternoon included Nathan Waters from the Scone GC in the boys 16 years and Yogan Rajayogan in the boys 15 years in a playoff.
In the girls 16 years and over Chantal Hodson defeated Claudia Lim in a playoff to take home the gold medal.
The morning field went out under grey gloomy skies. Lucky for them the rain held just enough for some great scoring. The boys 14 years was decided in a 3 way playoff with Nathan Mann (Longyard), Kurt Eckmann (Castle Hill) and Ruben Sondjaja (Bonnie Doon) all being locked on two over par 73. The playoff was just as exciting with Nathan Mann dropping out after a bogey on the 2nd hole. Kurt and Ruben traded birdies on the 3rd playoff hole and pars on the 4th playoff hole. Kurt was too good on the 5th playoff hole claiming a well deserved gold medal.
In the girls 14 and 15 years Lizzy Elmassian of the Concord Golf Club shot an excellent even par 73 to take the gold medal. Shelly Shin from the Muirfield continued her great form in the girls 13 years and under winning the gold medal by four shots.
Isaiah Wolferstan from the Charlestown Golf Club continued on his winning ways again shooting a two over par 73 to take the boys gold medal by an outstanding 7 shots from Kevin Yuan of the Liverpool Golf Club.
