What’s a transition program?
The JNJG transition program is an individual scholarship grants program.
Who’s it for?
Grants of up to $3,000 will be available to individuals who are current members of Jack Newton Junior Golf who were HSC Graduates in 2008 or 2009 and meet the playing requirements (Boys Handicaps 3 or less/Girls Handicaps 5 or less). JNJG members who have left school and do not meet the above age requirements are still eligible to apply and will be assessed on merit.
What’s it all about?
The primary focus of the Transition Scholarship Grants Program is to assist individuals in their coaching, training/practice and interstate competition programs for 2010.
What will be funded?
Funding of $2,000 maximum will be available to offset travel, accommodation and entry fees to a minimum of 4 interstate amateur men’s or ladies events (preferably National Ranking Events). The remaining funds will be used to offset costs in seeking sport science (e.g. Physiotherapists, strength and conditioning coaches, sport psychologists etc.) and coaching support. Items that will not be covered include purchase of new equipment, food and beverage expenses and clothing.
What will be required of me if I gain a scholarship grant?
If you gain a scholarship you will be required to submit a yearly plan for 2010. This yearly plan will contain tournaments and events that you plan to play and other relevant information on your development for that year.
You will also have to submit a monthly practice plan to JNJG and report on your progress throughout the year. (Reporting forms will be provided)
You will also be requested by JNJG to assist with its activities during the year. This may include assistance at JNJG tournament or events, assistance with schools program or general office duties. You will be notified in due course where your assistance will be required.
How will the funds be paid?
Up to 50% of the funding will be paid via reimbursement of expenses. The balance of funding will be paid in a lump sum via reimbursement of expenses at the end of the scholarship period if the all terms have been met in the player agreement.
An expenses claim form will need to be completed with supporting documentation i.e. receipts to receive payments.
Selection Process
A selection committee comprising of representatives from JNJG, NSWGA and WGNSW will assess all eligible applications.
